Punjab Holidays 2027 (Expected)

The Punjab Government usually notifies the next year's holidays in November. Until then, these are the dates we expect, calculated from the Punjabi calendar.

Expected dates. Holidays that depend on moon sighting (Id-ul-Fitr, Bakrid, Muharram) and lunar Gurpurabs not yet published by the SGPC are left out.

Good to know

Punjab Government offices work a five-day week, so every Saturday and Sunday is off. Banks close on the second and fourth Saturdays. Chandigarh is a Union Territory with its own holiday list, which differs from Punjab's on several days.

Employees may also take four half-day holidays to join Nagar Kirtans or Shobha Yatras. Deputy Commissioners can declare local holidays for district melas.
